After a recent bushfire, I was reminded of all the life forms that are affected by fire, water and changes to the environment. I was thinking of making an homage to the loss, but instead chose to carve something more hopeful and based on renewal. Frogs are some of the most impacted species when it comes to logging, human encroachment, and climate change. They survive on a tenuous thread connected to biodiversity and access to healthy forests and clean water. This piece is for the renewal we need in order to survive.
