Every once in a while I get to make a spoon that has a little foxtail instead of a handle. I don't normally plan it; it just happens.
This was one such case. The spoon is made of Apple, Malus domestica, I then used a solution of steel wool dissolved in vinegar to change the color of the wood. The mixture reacts with the natural tannins in the wood to create the effect.
It measures approximately 6.5 inches long. Finished with linseed oil.
